RSE “Gosexpertiza” issued a positive conclusion following the review of the project “Reconstruction of the Kazakhstan Sports Palace in Astana,” located at 9 Kazymukhan Munaitpasov street, Almaty district, Astana.
According to the project, the existing building, constructed in 2000, will undergo reconstruction. The building is four stories tall with a total area of 37,664.3 m². The ice rink hall will have seating for 6,000 spectators, and the pool area will accommodate 1,200.
The project includes the demolition of walls and partitions, as well as expansion through annexes to the main building. After reconstruction, with the transformation of the ice rink surface, various sporting competitions and cultural events can be held. Additionally, retractable stands will provide up to 1,000 extra seats.
The reconfiguration of auxiliary facilities takes into account rational use of space: these areas will serve both the pool and the ice rink. They will include locker rooms, showers, sanitary facilities, massage and coaches’ rooms, training halls, a choreography studio, an acrobatics hall, and administrative, technical, and service premises.
The complex will also feature a lobby with ticket offices, cloakrooms, and restrooms, a guesthouse for temporary accommodation of 75 athletes, a café, a cafeteria, and rooms for press conferences.
