Online seminar “Fundamentals of seismic-resistant construction” held

From June 23 to 24, 2025, employees of RSE “Gosexpertiza” and its branches participated in an online seminar on the topic “Fundamentals of seismic-resistant construction.” The 15-hour training covered key aspects of ensuring building safety in seismically active areas.
The seminar was led by academician, Doctor of Technical Sciences, research professor, and honored builder of the Republic of Kazakhstan, T.Abakanov.
During the two-day seminar, participants examined various topics, including:
• The nature and causes of earthquakes;
• Requirements of SP RK 2.03-30-2017 “Construction in seismic zones”;
• Seismic load calculations;
• Requirements for seismic joints in buildings;
• Requirements for seismic belts;
• Methods to ensure the stiffness and strength of precast reinforced concrete floors and roofs;
• Seismic safety of existing buildings;
• Seismic isolation systems and active seismic protection;
• Comparison of calculation results with earthquake consequences, and more.
Upon completion of the training, all participants received certificates. Such educational events contribute to improving specialists’ qualifications and enhancing safety in construction.
