Higher school of architecture in Kazakhstan 50 years

In 1961 in the city of Alma-Ata the first set on a speciality "Architecture" at engineering-building faculty in the Kazakh polytechnical institute has been declared.
The initiator and the main organizer of it was Toleu Kulchamanovich Basenov - Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of Council of Ministers Kazakh SSR on affairs of construction, and then - long-term head of cathedra of town-planning.
In city Almaty on October, 28-29th, 2011 in a complex of former Kazakh polytechnical institute (nowadays - the Kazakh National technical university of K.Satpaeva) in city Almaty on the eve of 20th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan the international scientifically-practical conference, devoted to the 50th anniversary of architectural formation in Kazakhstan has been lead.
In work of conference have taken part the visitors represented universities from Moscow, Baku and Bishkek, the higher international architectural institutes, and also representatives of the higher architectural schools from capital of Kazakhstan the Euroasian university of L.Gumileva and Agrarian university of S.Seyfullina, the East Kazakhstan state technical university of D.Serikbaeva from Ust Kamenogorsk, the Kazakh Leading Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering (RSE «KazGASA»), presidents of the Union of architects, the Union of town-planners and the Union of designers of Kazakhstan.
Plenary session of conference took place in a building of Fund of the first President of Republic of Kazakhstan and was accompanied by an exhibition «The Architecture of Kazakhstan yesterday, today, tomorrow» where works of many graduates KazPTI-KazNTU have been exposed. In building KazNTU the exhibition of the International sculptural Biennial also has been opened.
The second day of conference has begun with solemn opening the memorial signboards testifying to assignment of a name of T.Basenova to institute of architecture and construction KazNTU.
Then questions have been discussed and documents are signed on establishment of the public international organization - the Consortium of heads of architectural higher schools and faculties of the CIS countries.
In work of conference have taken part and the former graduates of architectural faculty KazPTI now they working in RSE «Gosexpertiza» and its Southern branch in Almaty.
